Came across thisdescription of the filming of The Blair Witch Project and had to laugh: "Welcome to the acclaimed new face of indie cinema: filmaking as frat prank."

i hated the movie. of course i saw it on a computer as bootleg freshmen year of college but still the movie sucked.
Oh, yes. The movie was absolutely appalling (I saw it on ex-rental video, a copy I promptly either threw away or shoved in a box somewhere.) The sequel was quite a good movie though, if you ignore the crap it came from.
